Mongle ("the app") is a word-learning virtual-pet game developed by June Hong. This policy explains what information the app handles, and what it does not.
Mongle is designed to work without an account and without a server. You do not sign in, and the app does not send your game progress to us or to anyone else. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.
The app does not collect, and we do not receive, any of the following:
Because there is no account and no server, there is no user profile for us to store, share, or delete.
The following information is stored only in the app's local storage on your device, so the game can remember your progress between sessions:
This data is never transmitted to us. It is not backed up to any server by the app. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Word pronunciations in Mongle are produced by synthesized text-to-speech (TTS) on your device. Listening to a word does not send anything anywhere. The app does not record your voice, does not listen through your microphone, and does not send any audio to a server.
Mongle shows ads provided by Google AdMob, and only as non-personalized ads. We do not provide Google with any personal information about you for the purpose of personalizing ads.
Ads appear only at natural breaks in play: a banner ad on the Home screen, and an interstitial ad after a quiz set. Ads never appear during a quiz question, and never appear on the hatching or evolution celebration moments. Mongle has no rewarded ads and no in-app purchases.
As the ad provider, Google may collect limited device information in connection with serving and measuring ads, including for fraud prevention, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and the AdMob data disclosure. This is the only third-party data handling associated with the app. We do not use any other analytics service in the app; the only statistics available to us are the aggregated, anonymized app vitals provided by Google Play, which do not identify you.
If you allow notifications, the app may send local reminders on your device — for example, to check in on your pet. These reminders are created and delivered on your device only; they are not sent through a server. The app sends at most 2 notifications per day, and you can change the notification time or turn notifications off in the app's Settings. Mongle does not use notifications to collect any information.
Mongle is designed for all ages, and its audience includes children learning their first words. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from anyone else: there is no account, no chat, no social feature, and no way for a player to enter personal information into the app. A parent or guardian who wishes to remove all locally stored progress can do so by deleting the app from the device.
Because all game data is stored only on your device, we hold no copy of it and there is nothing for us to delete on a server. Deleting the app removes its locally stored data from the device. If you contact us about this policy, any email you send is handled only to answer your question and is not added to any marketing list.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be reflected in the version shown here before they take effect in a new release of the app.
